We will support Ukrainian children by providing them safe transport to Poland and other bordering countries. Lots of kids are without parents walking for days to the polish borders where traffickers are waiting to kidnap them. Thanks to Give we will provide them with transport, care, shelter and trauma counseling.
The war in Ukraine poses an immediate and growing threat to the lives and well-being of the country’s 7.5 million children. More than a million refugees have been forced to flee Ukraine seeking safety and protection.
Hundreds of thousands of them are children, including lots of unaccompanied children. The needs of children are multiplying as fighting intensifies. The immediate and very real threat to Ukraine’s children has grown. Homes, schools, orphanages, and hospitals have all come under attack.
Some children are crossing the borders without parents. Still millions of children remain in Ukraine and seek safety in the bomb shelters with their families and or without their families and without parental care. There is immediate support needing for children in Ukraine.
We are currently taking action to support and coordinate transport of children (also without parents) to safety inside Ukraine, Poland or other bordering countries. We will provide immediate needs-based emergency care and support to families and children in the shelters. We aim to set up activities for psychosocial and/or practical support for children, including children without parental care or in institutions. We also will monitor and support efforts to collect evidence on children’s rights and violations, including war crimes against children.
